Excerpt:
“Too bad. I was hoping for some awesome sex secret.  Like telling me you really are into dominatrix stuff.”

“Sex again, huh?”

“Must be the alcohol.” She finished up the fifth or sixth beer, and enjoyed the heat coursing through her veins. The fake happiness would soon turn to depression, but she didn’t care for now. It had been so long she let go of control and did something reckless.

“David said I sucked at sex.”

This time, he rolled over. Those stinging blue eyes pierced into hers and his jaw tightened. “David was an asshole and that’s why you left. You don’t suck at sex.”

The giggles overtook her. “How do you know? We never had sex. I probably do. I’m too in my head, always waiting to see if I’m good enough until faking orgasms became my art.”

Fury laced his words. “Let me repeat. He was an asshole, and lousy in bed if he had you faking orgasms. He messed with your head, babe. Don’t let him get in.”

She waved a hand in the air and tried not to giggle again. Oh yeah, she was drunk. It wasn’t so funny before, but now it seemed kind of lame not to be able to rock the bedroom with your fiancĂ©. “S’okay. I’m not the sexy type, you know? I’m vanilla. Boring. He even said my kissing was like missionary sex every night. But I know he didn’t mean to hurt my feelings. He was just saying it to make me better, so I got some books, but it still didn’t really work.”

His teeth clenched. She was fascinated by the naked rage flickering over his face, the way he held his body tight like he was about to explode like some badass superhero. “I’m going to kill him.”

She almost laughed, but then he looked a bit too serious. Gen frowned and reached out. She got lucky and hit vision number one, which was real and not the duplicate dancing in front of her. Her fingers stroked his stubbled jaw in an effort to soothe his temper.

Damn, she used to be able to knock back five beers in a night. Maybe because she had nothing in her stomach and it had been a hell of a day. Why did he look so mad again? Oh yeah, because she sucked at kissing and he was gonna kill David. “Not his fault. He never wanted to hurt me, told me that all the time. I kinda made him do it by not listening.”

“You really believe this shit, Gen?”

“It’ll be okay. I’ll get a vibrator or something, or maybe take lessons. Kate’s mom is a sex therapist, you know. Maybe she can help.”

He grabbed her hand and squeezed tight. “I’m gonna rip him apart piece by piece. You are good at sex. You are good at kissing. Are you listening?”

She nodded hard. Ooooh, cool. Three faces now. He was so nice to look at, she could stare at him all day. So much better than evil Kermits. “Uh-huh. You’re a good friend. My fault though. You don’t know how bad I am at it.”

“Fuck.” The vicious curse emitted from his sexy mouth. His warm breath hit her cheek. She hated when he got pissy. “You better remember this tomorrow.”

“Huh?”

Suddenly, he loomed over her, pressing her back into the ground, his hips cradling hers. Oh wow. His body heat scorched through wet clothes and her bare legs automatically opened in a primeval urge to surrender. He planted both hands on either side of her head and lowered his mouth. What was he doing? His delicious scent rose to her nostrils, and her hands found their way to grip his hips, his damp skin sleek and muscled beneath her touch. Another curse escaped. He seemed grumpy and torn as he stared at her, inches away from her mouth, and Gen blinked a few times because his head kind of floated around, and her body screamed for more contact, please, just a bit more, and then he muttered, “I’m gonna prove you’re good at this kissing thing, okay?” and his mouth took hers.

She whimpered, literally whimpered, at the amazing feel of those ultrasoft, smooth lips coasting over hers with an expert grace and blistering heat that made her toes curl. Oh, alcoholic visions were so yummy! Wolfe, her best friend and and confidant, was kissing her, and it was too good to be real, so it had to be some sort of psychedelic mirage from too much Sam Adams.

Her mind spun, tried to make sense of it, and gave up. Her body roared forward and seized control. Hips arched, nails digging into his lower back, she surrendered to the sensations rocketing in her core and spreading like fire through her veins. He kissed her for a while, until she was a soft, gooey mess beneath him, and then his tongue parted her lips and surged in.

She opened her mouth and met him halfway, crazed for the full taste and essence of him. His tongue pushed, stroked, and explored, taking her deep. She moaned and reached for more. God she wanted more, the taste of citrusy lemon and male hunger pulling her under. He grew hard between her thighs and she nipped at his bottom lip, sucking gently, and he muttered something foul, deflowering her mouth like she was a virgin asking to be ravished and taken and fucked.

Time stood still. It was too short, it was endless, it was everything. Her head spun, her breasts grew achy and tight, and she was so wet he could’ve slipped between her thighs and slid home without a protest. She made a sound deep in her throat when he slowly pulled away, the wet slide of his tongue over hers bestowing one final taste.

She blinked. Blistering heat and fury and lust mingled in those blue eyes. She felt eaten alive, scoured raw, and Gen shook as the solid foundation underneath her shifted and broke open.

“Are you listening, Gen?”

She couldn’t speak, so she managed a nod.

“You’re an amazing kisser. I could’ve fucked you right here and now and been the happiest guy in the world. A guy has to be dead not to want you. David is a piece of shit. Understood?”

She swallowed. Nodded again. “Good.” He slid off her and she almost cried out at the loss of his heat and pressure. The sky opened and swallowed her up as utter exhaustion suddenly hit her. Turned on, spent, emotions ripped and bleeding, she grabbed for his hand not to lose physical contact, and he interwove his fingers with hers and lay back on the dock. Slowly, she relaxed, his presence a bone-deep comfort and something else, something she refused to examine.

Gen gave up and let the blackness take her. But first she said the words.

“I love you, Wolfe.”

She slid toward sleep. His response drifted in the sultry air among the chirp of crickets.

“I love you too, babe.”

Release Week Blitz: Excerpt & Giveaway: 21 Stolen Kisses by Lauren Blakely

We are absolutely thrilled to bring you the Release Week Blitz for Lauren Blakely's 21 STOLEN KISSES!! 21 STOLEN KISSES by Lauren Blakely is a standalone New Adult Forbidden Romance from the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author being published by Bloomsbury Spark! Lauren Blakely is well known for writing sexy, heartfelt and humorous contemporary romance as well as deeply emotional new adult stories. 21 STOLEN KISSES is a beautifully written forbidden romance that will have you holding your breath and turning the pages as fast as you can!

ABOUT 21 STOLEN KISSES:

When I first met him I resisted.

Like any forbidden love, I told myself he was a crush, and it would pass.

That was a lie. It never faded.

And I never expected he would fall for me just as hard.

There were so many reasons that should have kept us apart, least of all, the decade that separated us.

Growing up in New York City, I learned early on that love is a double-edged sword.

Love broke up my parents, love took away my friends, and love -- the big, intense, never-been-like-this-beforelove -- landed me in therapy.

Now I'm heading to college, and it's time to give love a clean slate again. But, can I really start over when he's still in my life?

Because the one man I've always wanted, is also the only guy I absolutely can't have…

And he wants me just as fiercely.

Can I settle for anything less than the love of my life?

Excerpt:
He inhales sharply. The look in his eyes says we’re crossing into the danger zone again. It’s the only place I want to be with him. Because when we’re there, nothing between us feels dangerous. Everything feels right.

“I turn eighteen in a few more weeks,” I say, like my birthday is an open invitation for us to slam back into each other.

He nods. “I know.”

A breeze blow by and rustles his hair. A lock falls out of place. Instinct takes over. I raise my hand to reach for his hair.

But he’s faster. He grasps my wrist, and the second he does, the moment expands. It stretches and unfolds into the thing I will replay tonight and tomorrow and the next day. I stare at his hand clasped around my wrist, flashing back to all the times he held my hand, touched my wrist, and ran his fingers along my arm. I shiver as the memories collide, the past slamming into the present.

I look up from our hands to his eyes. Blazing, full of heat. Full of all that restraint from him that I know so well.

Blog Tour: Excerpt & Giveaway: Shattered Duty by Katie Reus

Blurb:
A new novel from the author of Bound to Danger who “has the amazing ability of pulling the reader onto the front lines of the action and drama.” (The Reading CafĂ©)

When his wife was murdered two years ago, Special Agent Levi Lazaro turned his back on everything he cared about. Ever since, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. Now he's finally uncovered the identities of those who killed his wife—and he's ready to destroy them at any cost. He won’t let anything stand in his way—not even a beautiful NSA agent on a mission of her own.

Special Agent Selene Wolfe prides herself on being the best. Her fearlessness and quick-thinking make her the perfect person to take down a deadly terrorist cell. But she needs Levi’s help, and the moment he shows up, Selene knows her objectivity—and her heart—are in trouble.

As the two strike an uneasy alliance, Levi finds himself tormented by his desire for Selene—a feeling he thought long dead. But when their mission takes an unexpected turn, he finds himself at a crossroads. Can he put aside his need for revenge to save the woman who’s reawakened his soul?

Amazon - B&N

Excerpt:

“If you think you’re going to put a hood over my head you’re out of your freaking mind,” Selene said quietly, her stance defensive as they stood next to Levi’s SUV.

The majority of the partygoers had decided to stay so most of the vehicles at Shah’s place were still there. He and Selene had avoided the guards as they used the beach, then a neighbor’s property, to make their way to the parked cars.

Before he could respond, she continued, her stilettos held tightly in her cuffed hands. “You’d better be prepared to fight me to the death, because you’re not putting that thing on me.”

In that moment Levi felt like the monster he knew he was slowly turning into every passing day. The blackness spreading across his insides was like a cancer and even though he knew it, he couldn’t stop it. It ate away at him day in and day out until he could barely look in the mirror. And he didn’t like the way Selene was looking at him now.

A person could bottle up rage and hate only so long before it started to kill him. Normally he shoved all that shit back down, but as Selene warily watched him, he felt a glimmer of the man he’d once been start to surface and guilt slammed into him.

He needed her hooded so she wouldn’t see where he was staying, but more than anger, there was a stark kind of fear in her pale blue eyes. It fled quickly but it had been unmistakable. For some reason the thought of making her feel vulnerable made him feel like shit. He had no idea how trained she was—though he knew she had to be a decent fighter to work for Wesley—and a fight with her wouldn’t be worth it, even if he did win in the end. He’d lose all semblance of trust between them. Not that he was even sure that they had any, but starting things that way after she’d agreed to take him to meet Tasev would be monumentally stupid—and guarantee that Wesley would come after him hard. Jaw tight, he yanked open the passenger door. “Get in,” he ordered.

“Only because you asked so nicely.” Her voice was saccharine sweet and her expression deadly as she slid in. When her long dress shifted, the right side splitting and revealing one of her long, toned, tan legs his entire body reacted, his cock flaring to life at just a peek of her damn skin.

Blurb
He's going above and beyond the call of duty...

Avery Yeung's biological clock just went off early. Thanks to her family's medical history, she's running out of time to get knocked up. And the only guy within donating distance? Her overprotective-and irritatingly hot-best friend. So clearly she needs an anonymous donor...

Anonymous donor? Over Sheriff Drew Flannery's dead body. While daddyhood will never be in the cards for a man with his past, Drew won't let Avery shop for a "popsicle pop." He'll do what's right for his best friend by doing his best friend. But only if they do it properly.

But there's nothing "proper" about it. Between the bed, the kitchen counter, and against his squad car, Avery and Drew are having the hottest sex ever. They can't get enough of it-or each other. And without knowing it, they've crossed the one line that could ruin their friendship forever...

Excerpt #1

He jumped, and then climbed to his feet when Avery did, and followed her to the plump older nurse. She smiled at them, making him wonder if she were someone’s grandmother—the kind who made cookies and read bedtime stories and…

What the hell was he even thinking?

As soon as they turned the corner from the waiting room, she handed him a small clear cup that had a sticker with his information on it. “You’ll put the specimen in here, please.”

The nurse opened a door. “You can leave the cup in the room when you’re done.” She smiled at Avery. “You’re welcome to go into the room with him, but we ask that you ensure there’s no saliva or other fluids involved so you don’t contaminate the specimen.”

Avery made a choked noise. “That’s so not going to be a problem.”

The nurse laughed and patted her shoulder. “I’ve heard that one before, honey. I’ll just leave you to it.”

He barely waited for her to disappear back around the corner before he turned to examine the room. It looked like an entire frat house’s stash of porn had exploded in there. “Isn’t this a little much for a few tests?”

She looked at him like he was an idiot. “How else are you going to get your engine running? Besides, this isn’t about tests—though I’m sure they’ll run a few. You wanted to help me make a baby, so let’s make a baby. Now go get ‘em, Champ.”

Jesus Christ. She expected him to leave a specimen so the doctor could shoot it up her…

Apparently when they’d talked about making a baby, something had gotten lost in translation.

“You’re shitting me.”

“Nope.” She slid past him into the room and meandered around, stopping in front of the television and eyeing the collection of DVDs on the shelf next to it. “Oh, look, they have Busty Blondes #37. I seem to remember you having one of these videos back in high school.”

He grabbed her shoulders and tried to steer her away from the shelf. “Not interested.”

Truth was, his inspiration for self sessions had migrated toward pretty Asian women who looked a whole lot like the one standing in the room with him.

“If you’re not into the DVDs, they have magazines, too.” She poked one with her finger. “Though this one appears a bit crusty.”

“Christ, stop touching things. Do you know what men do in here?”

She rolled her eyes. “Yeah, Drew, that’s kind of the point. They come in here, watch or read whatever tickles their fancy, and then masturbate into that sanitary little cup right there.”

When she said ‘masturbate’ he thought his head might actually explode. “Avery—”

“Are you worried about hitting your mark? That is kind of a small cup. Want me to go find something bigger?”

God, she was killing him. It would have been so much more bearable if he thought she was kidding, but Avery was drop dead serious. It was a sign of her nervousness that she hadn’t cracked a joke since he got into her Jeep.

He couldn’t do it.

Excerpt #2

What was the problem? She bit back the question. It didn’t really matter. All that mattered was that he kept touching her. He ran his hands down her spine, stopping just before reaching the cuffs. Then he pulled her into a standing position, using his hips to keep her pinned against the side of the Jeep, and repeated the process with the front of her body.

Or he started to. It stopped being a cursory exploration as soon as he reached her breasts. He cupped her, squeezing. “Why the hell aren’t you wearing a bra?”

He lightly pinched her nipples and she shivered. “I wasn’t aware I was talking to the fashion police.”

“Do you know what it does to me knowing you’re driving around, a short step away from being topless?” His breath brushed the back of her neck and over one shoulder, raising goose bumps in its wake.

Probably the same thing it did to Avery. She didn’t make a habit of going braless, but she might start if this was the reaction she got. She took a shaky breath. “Then I guess you better not do a panty check.”

Drew froze for one eternal second. Then he pushed her back down over the hood of her Jeep and dragged her skirt up to bunch around her hips. A breeze chose that moment to hit—as if she needed the reminder of just how exposed she was. But then he slid a hand between her legs, and she didn’t care much about anything else at all.

“You’re already wet.” He teased her, fingers brushing her clit, her entrance, and back again, nothing close to what she needed. “I think you like it when I toss you around.”

She gritted her teeth, fighting against the need to spread her legs to give him better access, and beg for him to just touch her. “Nah. I was touching myself while I was driving.”

“Really?” He kept up his maddening route. “And what were you thinking about?”

Hell, if she actually had started early, she’d have been thinking about him. Yesterday had given her plenty of ammunition for fantasies. No way in hell would she admit as much, though. “Sean Connery. Obviously.”

“Obviously.” His laugh was a little harsh. “Guess I’ll have to up my game if I want you in the here and now, huh?”

Up his game? Only if he wanted to kill her. Avery couldn’t admit she was so affected. She wouldn’t. It was just sex—and sex with a deadline, at that. She let her cheek rest against the cool metal of the hood, striving for control. “I don’t know. Sean Connery is a pretty tough act to follow.”

“Sean Connery, huh?”

“Yep.” She was lying through her teeth and she had a pretty good idea that he knew it. His fingers pushed deeper, spreading her until she couldn’t help but rock against him. She gritted her teeth. “He was really good.”

“I bet.” His lips found the back of her neck. “It’s a shame you have to settle for me.”

The ass didn’t sound the least bit bothered by it, either.

She hissed out a breath at the feeling of his palm cupping her. Owning her. It wasn’t supposed to be this intense. She closed her eyes, but that only made it worse, because she couldn’t pretend she was with anyone else but Drew.

She didn’t want to.

About the Author:

New York Times & USA TODAY Bestselling Author Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
