TOP TEN TUESDAY: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

1. JULIE GARWOOD
What rock have I been hiding under? I've read about 10 of Julie's historical novels this year and I've fallen in love. She wrote most of these in the late 80s, early 90s and they're just as good if not better then a lot of the new Historical Romances I've read this year.

2. MONICA MURPHY
Oh, the Highland Guard series. It's definitely one of my favorites, NAVY Seal meets Scottish warrior.  Monica also has two other Historical Romance series published.

3. JENNIFER ASHLEY
Do you see a pattern here? 2014 has been the year of the Historical Romance for me. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie came highly recommended and I can't say I was disappointed. The MacKenzies & McBrides is my favorite series of Jennifer's. In addition to Historical Romance, she also writes PNR.

4. MAYA BANKS
I know Maya Banks is probably known more for her Romance series, but I fell in love with her writing when I picked up In Bed with a Highlander. Her McCabe trilogy and her (unfinished) Montgomerys and Armstrongs trilogy are at the top of my list of favorite Historical Romances.

5. PENNY REID
Penny Reid! This author is a hidden gem I found perusing amazon one night. The Knitting in the City series truly is one of the funniest/quirkiest/sweet series I've ever read. AND Penny has a ton of books coming out in 2015. Standalones, new series and more KitC books! Keep an eye out for this debut author!

6. ANNA ZAIRES
If you enjoy dark erotic romance then Anna's Twist Me series is for you. The final book in this trilogy will be out in 2015. She also has a sci-fi erotica series published.

7. STEPHANIE TYLER
I fell in love with Stephanie when I read the Defiance series. Think MC meets post-apocalyptic world. It seems like Stephanie writes every genre. But if you haven't read anything by Stephanie, I would recommend starting with Defiance. She has a ton of series published and we can expect a few new books in 2015!

8. MIA SHERIDAN
Mia Sheridan wrote possibly the sweetest Romance I've ever read. I haven't had a chance to read any of her other works so far but if you haven't read Archer's Voice I would highly recommend it.

9. LINA ANDERSSON
Lina wrote possibly my favorite MC romance of all-time, Arrow of Time. She just published the third book in this series, (with a novella after the second book) and I can't wait to see what she writes next!

10. JILL SHALVIS
Okay, I know. Not reading anything Jill Shalvis wrote until 2014 is almost criminal. BUT in my defense I read her entire Lucky Harbor series this year. So, my goodreads reading challenge thanks you :D But seriously, if you haven't read anything by Jill yet, I would recommend starting in Lucky Harbor!

So, these are my top ten new-to-me authors I read in 2014, what are yours?

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY #4

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, it spotlilghts upcoming releases that we are dying to read.

My WOW this week is Center of Gravity (Marauders #3) by Lina Andersson

Anna’s goal in life had been set when she was ten years old: she was going to become a principal dancer at the New York City Ballet, and she made it. Her entire life revolved around dancing, and she loved every second of it. But after a split-second lapse of attention, she lost it all.

Now, with a heart as broken as her leg, she agrees to follow her aunt Irina back home—to Greenville, Arizona.

Mitch lived family life vicariously through his older brother, Mac, and even if he envied Mac’s devotion to his wife, he’d never even been close to feeling anything similar to a woman, and he wasn’t looking for it, either. When their friend Lisa asks him to show her friend Anna a good time, he’s very intrigued about the possibilities a flexible ballerina would present.

Then he gets to truly know her, and that’s when things become complicated.

Expected publication: November 22nd 2014

HOLY CRAP I can't wait for this book to be published. I absolutely LOVED the first two books, Arrow of Time and Perfect Collision. They can be read as stand alone but I think it will be more enjoyable read in order. This is a series you don't want to miss out on! Two words: MOTORCYCLE CLUB. Be on the lookout on the 22nd! :)
