Best Books of 2017

Even though I'm on hiatus I thought I'd do a best books of 2017 because I do it every year and even though I didn't read as many (new) books as I usually do I did really enjoy a lot of newbies! So here goes..

The Edge series by Megan Crane
This series ticks all of my boxes. Dystopian. Vikings. Alpha Male hotness. Badass women who don't always need their alpha male to fight their battles. I can't recommend this series enough to people. Go! Read! Now!

Silver Silence by Nalini Singh
It's no secret I love Nalini Singh's PNR series. I read them twice a year because I love them THAT much. Silver Silence starts a new story arc and I love the direction she's taking the series!

Wicked Abyss by Kresley Cole
This is one of my all-time favorite series and this is book freaking 18 so you know that if I still have a love for this series KC is doing something right. This book is a play on—Beauty and the Beast which is one of my favorite fairytales—and Kresley does it beautifully.

Deacon by Kit Rocha
Deacon is the second book in the spinoff of the Beyond series called Gideon's Riders. Following? Good. Because the Beyond series is a must-read if you love post-apocalyptic badassery and the Gideon's Riders series follows the same tune. Love love love love love.

Basically Every Single Thing that Mariana Zapata Has Written.
Okay, that may be a little dramatic but I just discovered her writing this year and I binged all of her books and totally fell in love with her writing. If you're fan of a slow (and I mean s l o w) burn then check out her books!

Ashes by Suzanne Wright
I love every single that Suzanne Wright has ever written and Ashes was no exception. The Dark in You series is so unique and unlike most PNR books I read! Worth checking out!

The Cad and the Co-Ed by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid
I love love love this series just the right amount of humor, romance and angsty-angst (yes I just made that up). For sure one of my favorite romantic comedy sportsy series!

Eternal Ecstasy by Setta Jay
The last book in the Guardians of the Realms series and it was so good! Just reading the description makes me want to do a series re-read! This series is PNR erotica at it's finest so if that sounds like something you'd want to read definitely check this series out!

Boston Underworld series by A. Zavarelli
If you like dark romance look no further. Each book held my attention and I wish there were more!

So those were my favorite books of 2017! What were yours?

May Favorites

I read 36 books this month (go me!) and these were my stand-outs...

1. Fierce Obsessions by Suzanne Wright
We finally get Tao's story that has been a long time coming. And I was surprised how much I liked this one! I loved that it took place in the Phoenix Pack but also in Riley's Flock in Arizona. Not a standalone but this is one of my favorite shifter series. You get funny and sexy-times and good plot lines. Definitely check out Suzanne Wright if you haven't!

2. Wicked Abyss by Kresley Cole
SO I finally got around to reading the 18th (!!!) installment of the Immortals After Dark series and boy it didn't disappoint. Another of the Møriør gets their story told and I loved reading about Sian and Lila. It was very Beauty & the Beast-esque and definitely a must-read!

3. The Hot Shot by Kristen Callihan
This was the 4th book in the Game On series and I loved it just as much as the first 3! Chess (Chester Copperpot!!) and Finn's story wasn't all hearts and rainbows but that's what I love about this series. I also think I have a new profession I need to get into, Chess is one lucky bitch.

4. The Red by Tiffany Reisz
Okay, so this one is a little brag because I got my hands on an ARC and this doesn't come out until July but it was SO. DAMN. GOOD. I have a mini review here. The Red was unlike anything I've ever read before but if you like Tiffany Reisz, you will love this book.

5. Boston Underworld series by A. Zavarelli
So I totally binged this series in 4 days but it was so good! Be warned—pretty much all of the books are dark so if you aren't down with that then this isn't for you. However, I loved them, I can't wait to see what this author writes next!

6. Beyond Doubt by Kit Rocha
This novella just came out yesterday but I read it in one sitting and I loved every second of it. I actually re-read the entire Beyond series this month and if you haven't read these books—you're missing out! Post-apocolyptic orgy-filled bad-assery. Also they have a spinoff Gideon's Riders that takes place in Sector One. Definitely worth a read!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I read in 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
This week's TTT is Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2016!

Okay I know its been forever since I did a TTT but I had to do the best of '16! So in no particular order here we go..

1. Bounty by Kristen Ashley
I totally begged for an ARC of this book and I loved it so hard. I've said it before and I'll say it again—I love Kristen Ashley books. I re-read all of her books once a year and yeah. Give me more KA.

2. Spiral of Need and Force of Temptation by Suzanne Wright

Two books in The Mercury Pack series released this year and I loved them. Suzanne Wright is one of those authors that I can read whatever mood I'm in and I know I'll love it.

3. Idol and Managed by Kristen Callihan

I waited until Managed was released to read this series and I was so mad at myself for waiting! I loved it! And I've had a serious lack of hot rockstar reads lately so this was the perfect start to the VIP series.

4. Beyond Ruin, Beyond Ecstasy and Beyond Surrender by Kit Rocha

The three final books in the Beyond series were released this year (holy crap what!) and I loved them all. I may or may not have cried a bit when I finished Beyond Surrender because this is one of my all-time favorite series forever and ever but the authors are writing another series in this crazy world they created. Looking forward to Ashwin in 2017!

5. Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis
This one isn't actually out until 2017 but I snagged an ARC (lucky me!) and totally fell in love with Archer. So I'm cheating! Seriously though, I call dibs on him Jill!! Hoping there are more books to come in this series!

6. Archangel's Heart by Nalini Singh
Yessssss. I binged this series last year, or early this year I forget, and I was kicking myself for waiting so damn long to read them. They are amazing and I want this series to have 50 more books, deal Nalini?

7. Addicted by Elle Kennedy
It's no secret I love me some post-apocalyptic books and Elle totally killed it with her first book in this series Claimed. Addicted was amazing and I haven't gotten a chance to read Ruled yet—which I read is the last book in the series noooooooo!—but definitely one of my favorites!

8. Beard Science by Penny Reid
I love me some Penny Reid—it's no secret. I totally fell in love with Cletus and I've heard whisperings we may get more of him and Jennifer! If you haven't read this series YOU NEED TO.

9. The Saint, The King, The Virgin and The Queen by Tiffany Reisz

Okay, I know the final book in this series came out in 2015 but I couldn't bring myself to read it because I didn't want this series to end. Tiffany Reisz books grab your soul and squeeze. Hard. One of the most well written series I've ever read.

10. Royally Screwed by Emma Chase
Give me Emma Chase books or give me death! For real though her books are always so good with a mixture of humor and romance and just look at that cover. LOOK AT THAT COVER. I need to go buy this in paperback asap. But if you're looking for male POV books Emma Chase slays.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
This week's TTT is Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2015

1. Beyond Innocence by Kit Rocha. This is the sixth (!!!!) book in the Beyond series and it's the one we've all been waiting for. Jared! And let me tell you, this book lived up to my expectations. If you haven't read this series yet, you might want to get on that before Beyond Ruin is released because that's going to be one hell of a book!

2. Claimed by Elle Kennedy. Claimed is the first book in Elle's new Outlaws series and she started off with a bang. It's a post-apocolypitc world filled with complete awesomeness. Addicted will be out in June of next year and I'll be reading that book at 12:01 on release day for sure!

3. Burn by Suzanne Wright. This author can do no wrong in my eyes. Most of her books are paranormal romance and Burn was just one example of why she's so awesome. She writes these characters that get books all the time (vampires, shifters, demons) but she writes them all with a twist, it's like you're reading about a whole new species every time. Honestly I could have picked any book she released this year because they were all awesome.

4. Sustained by Emma Chase. This book is the second in The Legal Briefs series and it was for sure my favorite. We get Jake and Chelsea's story and I think the best part was not only watching Jake and Chelsea fall in love, but watching Jake fall in love with the kids as well. I can't wait to see what Emma writes next!

5. Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley. Okay, a Kristen Ashley book on my Top Ten list. No surprise there! But this book was the fourth in the Chaos series and it might just be my favorite. If I'm honest, I could have picked any book Ms. Ashley wrote this year because I loved them all but the Chaos boys have a special place in my heart.

6. The Duet by R.S. Grey. Okay, I know this book wasn't released in 2015 but in my defense this was my first book by R.S. Grey and it's what made me fall in love with her writing! Her wit and humor and romance completely won me over and she went on my auto-buy list.

7. Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole. Kresley's Immortals After Dark series will always be one of my all-time favorites. The cast of characters she's written into this crazy world filled with every kind of mythological creature you can think of are most definitely my favorites. This series needs to go on for another 40 books and maybe I'll be satisfied.

8. Truth or Beard by Penny Reid. I love Penny Reid! She's definitely one of my favorite authors and choosing just one of her books from this year was hard But the Winston brothers have a special place in my heart and Beau and Jessica's story was everything I wanted. I can't wait for the upcoming books in this series!

9. Pucked by Helena Hunting. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard as I did when I read this book for the first time. (yes, first time, because even though I read it in March, I had to read it again in October just because I couldn't help myself) The third book in this series releases early next year and I'm counting down the days!

10. Chase Me by Tessa Bailey. I absolutely loved this book. It's a short book so I read it in an afternoon and I wished it was 400 pages longer. All three books in this series are now published and while I loved them all, Louis and Roxy are most definitely my hashtag-relationship-goals.

THAT WAS SO HARD. But they're my Top Ten Best Books I Read in 2015. What are yours?

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books On My Fall TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
This week's TTT is Top Ten Books On My Fall TBR!

1. Spiral of Need by Suzanne Wright
I've actually read an ARC of this book and let me tell you, it's as awesome as I hoped it would be.

2. Last Hope by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick
The writing duo of Jessica Clare and Jen Fredrick is one of my favorites and their Hitman series is amazing. Bring on Mendoza!

3. Claimed by Elle Kennedy
If Elle Kennedy writes it, I'll read it. Claimed is the first book in a new series "about men and women living on the edge of violence, sex, and life and death." SIGN ME UP!

4. All I Want by Jill Shalvis
All I Want is the next book in Jill's Animal Magnetism series and I love it to bits. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this and let me tell you—if you like Jill Shalvis, you'll love this book!

5. The Queen by Tiffany Reisz
Wow. It's the end of an era. I don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to the characters Tiffany has created. There will never be another Søren or King or Nora—AH! The Original Sinners series will definitely rank up there will my all-time favorites.

6. Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashely
It's not a Top Ten list without a little Kristen Ashley. Her Chaos series is pretty great and after reading Ride Steady I know I'm going to love Walk Through Fire.

7. Reaper's Fall by Joanna Wylde
We're finally getting Painter and Melaine's story and I don't know if I can wait until November to read it!

8. Striker/Rock by Monica McCarty
Okay, this is kind of cheating but Monica is releasing her next two books in the Highland Guard series a month apart I'm counting them as one. This is one of my favorite historical romance series and these are two stories we've been waiting a long time for!

9. Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole
Finalllllly! Kresley Cole's PNR seires Immortals After Dark is amazing. The world she's built with the cast of characters we've all fallen in love with, Sweet Ruin is bound to live up to the hype.

10. Coming Back by Lauren Dane
I've loved the first two books in this series, and after learning Coming Back is a menage relationship I absolutely can't wait to read it!

So these are my Top Ten books in my Fall TBR, what are yours?

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
This week's TTT is Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From

1. Kristen Ashley (48)
Holy. Crap. I've read a lot of Kristen Ashley books, huh? If you didn't know, I'm mildly obsessed with her writing. Bring on the next 48!

2. Samantha Young (25)
Samantha Young writes a wide range of books, and I've read em all—from her YA to her PNR I've loved every one.

3. Jill Shalvis (21)
Majority of the 21 Jill Shelves books I've read have come from her Lucky Harbor series which is freaking awesome. Seriously, if you like contemporary romance, this author is for you.

4. Kresley Cole (20)
Kresley's Immortals After Dark series is probably my favorite PNR series of all-time. The characters and world she created is so complex and swoon-worthy that I know I'll definitely be re-reading the entire series in the near future.

5. Abbi Glines (18)
While I haven't read much of her stuff lately, Abbi Glines was one of the authors that got me back into reading. I fell in love with her YA series and then moved on to her NA books.

6. Laurann Dohner (16)
New Species for the win! The books are short enough that you can read them in one day, and the heroes are so possessive of their women that I get jealous that they don't actually exist. Also, her next book in the series, Numbers, which is two books in one, is going to be out soon!

7. Nicole Edwards (15)
If there's one author that writes great m/m/f m/f/m books, it's Nicole Edwards. Her Alluring Indulgence and Club Destiny series are most definitely my favorite threesome books!

8. Bella Jewel (14)
If you're looking for a quick MC book, Bella Jewel is the author for you. She also writes spin-off series about characters that you're just dying to read about.

9. Julie Garwood (14)
3 words. Julie. Garwood. Historicals. She's the queen. I seriously hope that she returns to Historical Romance sometime in the near future!

10. Monica McCarty (12)
Monica's Highland Guard series is awesome. Scottish warrior meets NAVY seal. 'nuf said. She has a few other Historical Romance series out, too!

10. Charlaine Harris (12)
Oh Sookie Stackhouse. You were so good to me for so long, but then we had to go and see other people. I'm kind of surprised we lasted 12 books.

10. R.K. Lilley (12)
If you're looking for a great BDSM series, look no further. R.K.'s Up in the Air series introduced me to that and I haven't looked back. She has a bunch of books in the works so keep an eye out!

Honorable Mentions: (10) Kit Rocha, Jennifer L. Armentrout, R.L. Mathewson, Suzanne Wright, Dannika Dark, Kristen Proby, Penny Reid.

Those are my Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From, who are yours?
