No, Joe didn’t call after the kiss. He’s the fun time guy, not the forever guy. And Kylie, after all she’s been through, deserves a good man who will stay. But everything about Kylie makes it damned hard to focus, and though his brain knows what he has to do, his heart isn’t getting the memo.

… is enjoy the ride.

As Kylie and Joe go on the scavenger hunt of their lives, they discover surprising things about each other. Now, the best way for them to get over “that kiss” might just be to replace it with a hundred more.

Pre-Order ABOUT THAT KISS in ebook or paperback, releasing 1/23/18

Excerpt:
Kylie Masters watched him walk into her shop like he owned it while simultaneously pretending not to notice him. A tricky balancing act that she’d gotten good at. Problem was, like it or not, her attention was caught and captured by the six foot, leanly muscled, scowling guy now standing directly in front of her, hands shoved in his pockets, body language clearly set to Frustrated Male.
She sighed, gave up the ridiculous pretense of being engrossed by her phone, and met his gaze. She was supposed to smile and ask how she could help him. That’s what they all did when it was their turn to work the front counter at Reclaimed Woods. They were to show potential clients their custom made goods when what they really wanted was to be in the back workshop on their own, individual projects. Kylie’s specialty was dining room sets, which meant she wore a thick apron and goggles to protect herself and was perpetually covered in sawdust.
And she did mean covered in sawdust. Wood flakes dusted her hair, stuck to her exposed arms, and if she’d been wearing any makeup today, they’d have been stuck to her face as well. In short, she was not looking how she wanted to be looking while facing this man again. Not even close. “Joe,” she said in careful greeting.
He gave her a single head nod.
Okay, so he wasn’t going to talk first. Fine. She’d be the grownup today. “What an I do for you?” she asked, fairly certain he wasn’t here to shop for furniture. He wasn’t exactly the domesticated type.
Joe ran a hand through his hair so that the military short, dark silky strands stood straight up. He wore a black t-shirt stretched over broad shoulders, loose over tight abs, untucked over cargos that emphasized his mile-long legs. He was built like the soldier he’d been not too long ago, as if keeping fit was his job – which given what he did for a living, it absolutely was. He shoved his mirrored sunglasses to the top of his head, revealing ice blue eyes that could be hard as stone when working but she knew that they could also soften when he was amused, aroused, or having fun. He was none of those three things at the moment.

April Favorites

I read 25 books in the month of April and these are my standouts...

1. Archangel's Heart by Nalini Singh
I don't know why the hell I waited so long to read this, maybe I was saving it to get me out of a reading slump (which is what it ended up doing). I love this series. If I had to choose between this and Nalini's Psy-Changeling series I honestly don't know if I could, that's how good she writes. If you haven't checked out any of her books I suggest you start!

2. Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy
This was the finale of Elle's Killer Instincts series and while she may be known more for her Off Campus series, THIS is my favorite series she's ever written. This will go down as one of my all-time favorite romantic suspense series because not only are the men badass mercenaries, the women are badass assassins as well! Now that the series is compete it is one that you can binge and fall in love with characters you'll never forget.

3. Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book (which isn't out until June boo) and it was classic Jill Shalvis. You get a hilarious cast of characters combined with the quirky goings on of a small town which equals success in my book. I will be reading Jill Shalvis books until the day I die.

4. Shacking Up by Helena Hunting
This is probably my favorite Helena Hunting book since Pucked came out. It was hilarious and romantic with a dash of angst. Another ARC that I received that will be out at the end of May and definitely worth picking up if you love HH books!

5. The Cad and the Co-Ed by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid
I've loved all the books in the series thus far and this one certainly didn't disappoint. This duo of authors manages to write hilarious books with sweet and sexy romances that have real life problems and you keep wanting more. Looking forward to more stories by these two authors.

6. Silver Silence by Nalini Singh
Sorry! I had to throw this one in here. When I got approved for this ARC I might have thrown out my back doing a happy dance. I don't want to give too much away because I'll have a review closer to the pub date but I loved the new cast of characters we got and I might have to read it again next month because it was that good.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I read in 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
This week's TTT is Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2016!

Okay I know its been forever since I did a TTT but I had to do the best of '16! So in no particular order here we go..

1. Bounty by Kristen Ashley
I totally begged for an ARC of this book and I loved it so hard. I've said it before and I'll say it again—I love Kristen Ashley books. I re-read all of her books once a year and yeah. Give me more KA.

2. Spiral of Need and Force of Temptation by Suzanne Wright

Two books in The Mercury Pack series released this year and I loved them. Suzanne Wright is one of those authors that I can read whatever mood I'm in and I know I'll love it.

3. Idol and Managed by Kristen Callihan

I waited until Managed was released to read this series and I was so mad at myself for waiting! I loved it! And I've had a serious lack of hot rockstar reads lately so this was the perfect start to the VIP series.

4. Beyond Ruin, Beyond Ecstasy and Beyond Surrender by Kit Rocha

The three final books in the Beyond series were released this year (holy crap what!) and I loved them all. I may or may not have cried a bit when I finished Beyond Surrender because this is one of my all-time favorite series forever and ever but the authors are writing another series in this crazy world they created. Looking forward to Ashwin in 2017!

5. Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis
This one isn't actually out until 2017 but I snagged an ARC (lucky me!) and totally fell in love with Archer. So I'm cheating! Seriously though, I call dibs on him Jill!! Hoping there are more books to come in this series!

6. Archangel's Heart by Nalini Singh
Yessssss. I binged this series last year, or early this year I forget, and I was kicking myself for waiting so damn long to read them. They are amazing and I want this series to have 50 more books, deal Nalini?

7. Addicted by Elle Kennedy
It's no secret I love me some post-apocalyptic books and Elle totally killed it with her first book in this series Claimed. Addicted was amazing and I haven't gotten a chance to read Ruled yet—which I read is the last book in the series noooooooo!—but definitely one of my favorites!

8. Beard Science by Penny Reid
I love me some Penny Reid—it's no secret. I totally fell in love with Cletus and I've heard whisperings we may get more of him and Jennifer! If you haven't read this series YOU NEED TO.

9. The Saint, The King, The Virgin and The Queen by Tiffany Reisz

Okay, I know the final book in this series came out in 2015 but I couldn't bring myself to read it because I didn't want this series to end. Tiffany Reisz books grab your soul and squeeze. Hard. One of the most well written series I've ever read.

10. Royally Screwed by Emma Chase
Give me Emma Chase books or give me death! For real though her books are always so good with a mixture of humor and romance and just look at that cover. LOOK AT THAT COVER. I need to go buy this in paperback asap. But if you're looking for male POV books Emma Chase slays.

Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but Rory’s out of options. She’s had a crush on Max since high school and she knows he’s attracted to her, too. But they have history… and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.
They’ve done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their past… and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.

Max whistled for Carl but the wind was so loud, the sound got swallowed up.
Rory slipped out of the truck and back into the mind numbing cold to make her way to Max. “Carl!” she yelled and nearly got blown over by the next gust of wind.
Max caught her and held her at his side. “You could’ve gotten home,” he said. “You know you’re crazy, right?” he asked.
Yes, she knew. And yeah, her whole purpose had been to show her family she’d changed but hey, there’d be plenty of time to stress about that later. “This is for Carl, not you.”
He choked out a rough laugh. “You’re still crazy,” he said but he’d kept his arm around her, holding her close. And he didn’t sound quite as mad at her anymore.
Which might have just been wishful thinking on her part.
“Carl!” Max yelled, using the hand that wasn’t holding onto her to cup around his mouth. “Carl, come!”
From out of the woods came a huge snow abomination. When it was only a few feet from them, it stopped, shook, and sent snow flying.
Carl.
Proud of himself, he sat happily at their feet and panted a smile, while Rory fought with relieved tears.
What was wrong with her tonight?
Max got them all back into the truck. He dried off Carl the best he could and then turned to Rory.
She had no idea that she’d lost the battle with her emotions until Max cupped her face and swiped a tear from her cheek with his thumb. “Rory,” he said, voice low and concerned.
“Does Christmas always have to suck so hard?” she whispered.
He looked at her for a long beat and then slowly shook his head. “No. Not always.”
They stared at each other some more and then…he kissed her. Softly at first, carefully, but she didn’t need either and let him know by fisting her hands in his jacket and letting out a needy little whimper for more.
This wrenched a deep, rough male groan from him that rumbled up from his chest, and she clutched at him, trying to get closer. Before she knew it, he’d hauled her over the console and into his lap, tucking her thighs on either side of his, letting her feel exactly how his body had responded to the kiss. He was hard.
Everywhere.
Hungry for the connection, desperate to forget her problems, trembling in her boots for more of this man beneath her, she kissed him back with all the pent-up longing and need she felt. When they broke free, his eyes were heavy-lidded with lust and desire, and she had one single, devastating thought.
All these years later, she still wanted him as her own.

Review
I've been waiting for this book solely for the fact that Zoe is a pilot-for-hire. I mean, how cool is that! Jill Shalvis always writes characters with the most interesting jobs. Not only that, but since this is the Animal Magnetism series I have to mention my love for the animals she writes! Every time I finish one of her books I want to run down the SPCA and adopt everything in sight.

I loved this book for one main reason: I was introduced to my new reason for breathing. Parker freaking James!
"Who's a good boy?" she murmured.
"Well, I don't like to brag, but I've been pretty good," Parker said.

Parker is Wyatt's friend who is staying at Zoe's while he's on "vacation" but he's really hunting a criminal poacher. I'm pretty sure I fell in love with him when he adopted those kittens *be still my heart*

Zoe was the glue that held her family together but Wyatt and Darcy have moved on and it's time for her to do the same, but she's a little jaded and not ready to let go of her control.
“I’m not annoyed by you,” he said.
“No?”
He smiled. “No.”
“What are you?” she whispered, still staring at his mouth.
“Lots of things.” He pulled her up and rubbed his thumb over the stain on her jaw, feeling a surge of satisfaction when her breath caught again. “Including turned on.”
The sexual chemistry between Zoe and Parker is off the charts! I loved the development of their relationship and how much fun they had with each other. And I can't write this review without mentioning Oreo! He totally stole the show!
“He doesn’t seem that nervous to me,” Parker said.
Oreo farted audibly.
Zoe fanned the air. “See? Nervous.”
Parker laughed. “My guess would be he’s eaten some of your cookies.”
All I Want was a great addition to the Animal Magnetism series and I can't wait to see what Jill comes up with next!

*I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The writing duo of Jessica Clare and Jen Fredrick is one of my favorites and their Hitman series is amazing. Bring on Mendoza!

All I Want is the next book in Jill's Animal Magnetism series and I love it to bits. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this and let me tell you—if you like Jill Shalvis, you'll love this book!

5. The Queen by Tiffany Reisz
Wow. It's the end of an era. I don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to the characters Tiffany has created. There will never be another Søren or King or Nora—AH! The Original Sinners series will definitely rank up there will my all-time favorites.

It's not a Top Ten list without a little Kristen Ashley. Her Chaos series is pretty great and after reading Ride Steady I know I'm going to love Walk Through Fire.
