Alexandr Sevastyan is an enforcer for the Russian mafia, who gets sent to Nebraska to protect the boss' daughter. He doesn't expect to have any feelings towards her but with one look that's out the window. It turns into an obsession, one that he fights because he doesn't want to disrespect his boss/friend/father figure.
Natalie Porter is a grad student living in Nebraska. She's been trying to find her birth parents for a while now, working crazy hours to pay her private investigators. Natalie is immediately attracted to Alexandr when she sees him in the bar and doesn't understand why he doesn't take what she's offering.

Without giving any of the plot away, The Professional is one hell of a ride. Fast-paced adventure with unexpected twists and turns. You get a peek at Nebraska (a place I know next to nothing about) and Russia (a country that has always been beautiful to me!) along with private jets, crazy expensive cars and mansions, wealth I have no understanding of. It's a crazy life to be thrust into. I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing this and I'm so glad I did.
The Epilogue was nice, but short. My only complaint is that I wish it could have been longer! I wasn't ready to let Alexandr or Natalie go. However I'm extremely excited for Maks' book! Even though we only got a tease of him, I can tell it's going to be a book worth waiting for.
